Who we are

Halfpenny Digital ("we", "us", "our") designs and builds websites for small and medium businesses. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.

Information we collect

When you use the contact form on this site, we collect the information you choose to provide, which may include:

• Your name and email address
• Your phone number, if provided
• Details of your business and the service you're interested in
• Your current website address, if you have one and choose to share it
• Any other information you include in your message

We do not knowingly collect information from children, and this site is not directed at them.

How we use your information

We use the information you submit only to:

• Respond to your enquiry and prepare the free mockup you've requested
• Discuss and deliver any project you go ahead with
• Keep basic records of client correspondence for our own accounting and legal obligations

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for marketing you haven't asked for.

Legal basis for processing

We process your enquiry details on the basis of legitimate interest (responding to a request you've made) and, where a project goes ahead, to take steps towards entering into a contract with you.

How long we keep your information

We keep enquiry and client information for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to you, deliver any agreed work, and meet our accounting and legal obligations — typically no longer than 6 years after our last contact, in line with standard UK record-keeping requirements (HMRC's 6-year rule for business records, and the standard limitation period for contract claims), unless we're required to keep it longer by law.

Who we share it with

We don't sell or rent your information. We may share limited information with trusted third parties who help us run this business, such as:

• Our email and form-handling provider, to receive and respond to enquiries
• Our hosting provider (Cloudflare), which serves this website
• [Any accounting, invoicing, or CRM software you use]

We do not transfer your information outside the UK/EEA except where a provider we use (such as Cloudflare) operates on infrastructure with equivalent data protection safeguards in place.

Cookies

This site does not currently use any cookies. We don't run analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts, so no cookie consent banner is needed at this time.

This site does load fonts directly from Google Fonts. This doesn't set a cookie, but it does mean Google receives your IP address when a page loads, as part of delivering the font files.

If we add analytics, advertising pixels, chat widgets, or embedded video in future, we'll update this section to list exactly what's set and why, and add a cookie consent banner if required by law.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• Ask what personal information we hold about you, and get a copy of it
• Ask us to correct inaccurate information
• Ask us to delete your information, where we have no legal reason to keep it
• Object to or restrict how we use your information
• Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you're unhappy with how we've handled your data
